Anniversaire.

Well, 27 years ago my mum LynnMarie gave birth to me. So technically its her birthday too. She went to that crazy thing called labour. My dad Rono got squeamish and waited out in the hallway. My grandparents did not want to meet me because I was half caste. This I didn't know until later. They came around and I have so much love from them its amazing. But they were old fashioned and that was times. My father was a scary prospect for them. He was a biker, a free spirit. Mum said I came out with a full head of hair, and these long skinny feet, she thought reminded her off skis. Nice, Mum. Thanks. But let's forward to Sept. 27th, 2006 shall we?

Kienyo aka Dj Sujinho and I happen to have the same birthday! So we coordinated our party to to be held at his weekly Nossa party with Cassiano at Kush Lounge on Chrystie St. in New York City. I had Josh from Re:Up Magazine make the most amazing birthday flyer ever. In return for drink tickets that he never claimed. Thanks Josh!

There was bongo drums, a Brazilian carnivale dancer, Baile Funk, Baltimore Club, old 90's UK anthems, I was a happy dancing baby. Arnoud and I went to La Esquina for supper and when we got there, we were ready for fun. Max from Sweden surprised me! Harry from London also popped up. He gave me a Charlie Chaplin box set and Shea butter. Awww. A lily bouquet from Renée. Made my home smell heavenly for days after. Tons of free booze, special chocolates, an Powell skateboard set up, money, a Commes Des Garçons wallet, special MP3 tunes sent for me, sweaters, tons of kisses and hugs. It was definitely a love movement up in there. The Pegleg crew, and Roxy came. I was just really, really happy. Here's some pics, cuz I know I am lagging. Sorry.
